Manufacturer of environmentally friendly VpCI anticorrosion packaging materials EcoCortec has opened a new plant in Croatia. The grand plant opening and ribbon cutting ceremony took place in Beli Manastir, a Croatian town located in the eastern part of the country, which is also the site of the company’s old plant.

EcoCortec opens new European plant

The new plant was built as a result of increasing requirements for equipment and additional space, and the New production facility will boost the plant’s manufacturing capabilities. The construction of the new plant was co-financed by the Croatian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts within the European Funds Programme.

As part of the Cortec Europe Group, EcoCortec provides high-technology, corrosion protection packaging solutions and exports its products worldwide. Along with new offices, the new 2000m2 facility also includes a state-of-the-art extrusion line E5, which is for 6.2 meter wide film, bags on roll and perforated sheets.

According to the company, 2018 has been especially successful for EcoCortec. Along with the growing sales, the company has finalised its expansion and embarked on numerous new projects. Currently, EcoCortec is a partner in the €1.95 million European BIOCOMPACK project supported by Interreg Central Europe. EcoCortec also launched Europe’s first collection and recycling initiative for used films and plastic bags. Both projects are aimed at decreasing plastic waste in Europe, one of the world biggest growing problems.

With excellent logistics, a brand new facility, larger warehousing capacity and a growing team, EcoCortec aims to have one of the most productive plants in the industry in Europe.
