At an altitude of 4 830 metres on the Everest Base Camp Trek, guess what you can find? WiFi access. Which means you can work, Facetime your loved ones, or Instagram your Everest selfies. By dispensing with the need for a physical presence, technology has made it possible to communicate, share and work remotely in some of the most isolated locations on Earth.

With all development rights in place, civil construction on the much awaited Ntshongweni Urban Development will commence in early 2019. This 2 000-hectare project located 30 kilometres west of the Port of Durban on the N3, is the next logical urban precinct expected to unlock significant economic activity for the city’s largely underserviced outer west subregion. Ntshongweni Urban Development is ultimately set to provide a framework for environmentally sustainable, community-centric and inclusive urbanisation.

Capitec Bank has unveiled the design of its new head office in Technopark in Stellenbosch. The business currently operates from multiple buildings in scattered locations in the same business park and has therefore decided to consolidate its offices into one building. The office will be custom-designed and owned by the company – thus increasing operational efficiencies. Leading South African architecture studio, dhk, designed the building whilst taking into account Capitec’s current occupancy and planned growth.
