VEGA hosted its popular annual Golf Day at Roodepoort Country Club in Ruimsig on 17 January.  Frikkie Streicher, Managing Director of VEGA Instruments SA, welcomed guests before introducing Juan Garcia, VEGA International Product Management Communication, who gave a talk on Industry 4.0 and the IIoT solutions offered by VEGA.

Garcia discussed the importance of connectivity – particularly connectivity to the Cloud – to Industry 4.0, emphasising that VEGA sensors are well prepared for this. He went on to demonstrate the following VEGA IIoT solutions:

The PLICSCOM Bluetooth solution includes security. Each VEGA instrument has a PIN code that is used to pair the instrument with the cell phone, tablet or laptop it is communicating with via Bluetooth. The difficulty of recording all these pins in a safe place has been overcome with My VEGA.  Based in the Cloud, My VEGA stores product information, documentation, pins and codes, and more, about your VEGA instruments under password protection.

Over longer distances, the company has a wireless data transmission solution directly to the Cloud via SMS or email, and the Vendor Managed Inventory Solution is another useful IIoT solution from VEGA.

Soon to become available is vCare a VEGA Maintenance Monitor. This new IIoT solution will not only provide you with the error code for your VEGA instrument but also the cause of the error and a possible solution.
