The Limpopo Provincial Government, Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL), a wholly state owned company, which falls under the Limpopo Department of Public Works Roads and Infrastructure, has raised over R289 million towards the development of road infrastructure through private/public partnerships.
By forming strategic partnerships with big business in Limpopo, the RAL has contributed significantly to the reduction of the cost and improvement of the road transportation system through integrated road infrastructure delivery, development of rural villages, and job creation. The Agency was established in 1999, to plan, design, construct, maintain, control and manage all Limpopo provincial roads. In the past 12 months, the RAL has been engaging big business within Limpopo and across the country to cooperate with the Agency. The public-private partnerships will speed up government’s road infrastructure rollout, boost the provincial economy and create jobs.
The South African government adopted the National Development Plan to transform the country’s economy, create new jobs and strengthen the delivery of basic services to all South Africans – particularly the poor.
Road Infrastructure delivery is vital for the South African economy.
