Modern Mining May 2019With the annual Botswana Resource Sector Conference (BRSC) coming up soon (it will be held in Gaborone on 10/11 June), we take an in-depth look at the country’s mining industry. As is well-known, the closure of several mines has hit the industry in Botswana hard and resulted in the loss of thousands of jobs (mainly in Selebi-Phikwe, where BCL operated) but there is hope of relief with several new copper and coal mines due to open over the next two to three years.
