In support of the supply chain industry, Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC) was the Bronze Sponsor of SAPICS 2018, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the organisation.

GLTC was proud to be associated with the landmark 40th edition of the Annual SAPICS Conference and Exhibition, which was held at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town from 10-13 June. The SAPICS Conference is a leading event in Africa for supply chain professionals and the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. The conference showcased the latest developments, newest technologies and innovative ideas relating to supply chain management.

Darryl Shafto, MD of Goscor Lift Truck Company.

SAPICS occupies an important spot on the supply chain professionals’ calendars. It is a platform where they discuss various topics and explore resources relevant to the supply chain profession. Professionals drive a lot of value out of the networking opportunities. The heart of the conference is to tackle core business issues, all the way from increasing revenues, decreasing costs to keeping customers happy – all of which are integral to GLTC’s own business goals.

“GLTC is very involved with the supply chain industry, as it forms part of our customer base,” explains Darryl Shafto, MD of GLTC. “As such, we felt that it was time to be more closely affiliated to SAPICS and be able to add value to supply chain management professionals attending the conference.”

“We also sent delegates to attend the conference, and they were able to meet and learn from hundreds of other passionate supply chain professionals at the top of their fields,” adds Shafto. By networking with the professionals in attendance, GLTC delegates were exposed to great business opportunities, ultimately allowing them to tap into the local and global SAPICS communities.

Shafto states that materials handling equipment, such as forklifts, plays a major role in the supply chain and logistics industry. GLTC is the sole distributor of leading forklift brands, including Crown, Doosan, Bendi, Hubtex and BHS Battery Handling Solutions in southern Africa, allowing the company to offer a full basket of materials handling equipment and warehousing solutions to its customers.

“Since 1984, we have carefully hand-selected our suppliers to ensure we represent only the best, market leading manufacturers to provide the African market with the ultimate quality materials handling equipment from top-class brands,” Shafto.

“In partnership with our suppliers, we continually strive to be at the forefront of equipment technology, bringing customers the latest market trends across the globe. Partnering our customers, we will continue to identify and unlock practical and sustainable solutions for logistics and warehousing processes, thereby helping reduce costs and pave the way to higher operational efficiency,” concludes Shafto.
